Ostensor

Ostensor points at how structure becomes function.

Following a mechanism

We take a process and trace it: which drug crosses a barrier, which protein gates, which neuron fires, which pressure changes, and how the steps depend on one another. The aim is depth, one step at a time.

Walking through it

Our viewer plays a storyboard of a mechanism. Its carousel can choreograph adaptive maps of the body, tissue interactions, and close-up views of the molecules on a cell. You step through at your own pace, forward and back, with an optional spoken commentary to keep you focused.

Showing our sources

Each step is traced to the primary literature, and we try not to state a claim with more certainty than it carries. You can see what a mechanism rests on, not just what it asserts.

An Ostensor walk-through draws on the same anatomical model we build in Sector, and most pieces have a plainer retelling on Lector, pitched at whatever depth suits you.

Sector takes physiological function apart into the structures that decide what can pass, what must move, what must not cross, and those that carry load and tension across the body.
